The Win a London Pad competition is designed to give away a total of 11 brand new apartments in central London by selling tickets costing £50 each. This win a house competition has partnered with leading UK charity Great Ormond Street Hospital to help raise up to £600,000 to fund a new four-bed cardiac ward in the hospital's heart and lung centre. Today the details of the first property winner were officially announced. Stephen Lakey, 37-year old IT project manager from London became the proud owner today of a brand new apartment valued at £400,000. Mr Lakey, who until recently lived with his unemployed parents in Abbots Langley to help support them, was handed the keys to the flat after buying two tickets in the competition. "I still can't believe it. It's life-changing", he said: "I can't wait to move to the city - it's the first time I will have lived away from home. I bought two tickets last month for the hell of it when I saw some of the money was going to such a good cause. I thought nothing more of it until I received a phone call telling me I'd won." MIA Developments, the company running the competition, has relaunched it with a view to giving away a further 10 flats over the coming months. Each time 30,000 tickets are sold, the company will pick one winner and hand them the property prize. In addition, the competition now features a range of bonus prizes worth at least £250. After months of waiting for the Oldborough Retreat competition to finally conclude, this provides good news for both players and anyone looking to run their own win a house competition. Congratulations to Mr Lakey for winning his dream property prize! Interested in these related items?
